After many hours of hard work, lots of cycling, exploration, and a few hikes here and there, Miho and I are finally ready to unveil our new tour! This is our homage to Ehime, and it symbolises everything we love about about the Japanese countryside. We’ve got a hike through a bamboo forest, amazing food (so good, in fact, we have made sure to sample it 10 times), cycling through small streets with visits to nooks and crannies of the city, a lesson in haiku writing with matcha tea, a rickshaw ride past the oldest hot spring in Japan, and a final toast with locally brewed sake. We’re really proud of this tour – because of both the hard work we’ve put in as well as the amazing places we’ve found.
The Matsuyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry kindly sponsored the first running of this new tour. We took 6 intrepid tourists on a journey into the unknown. Thankfully, we all came out the other side better for the experience. We were able to get some great shots of the tour, and it confirmed to us that our ideas, the places we had spent many hours hunting down, were spot on. It was 5* all around. We are so grateful to all those people who have helped us on this journey, to the CCI for their generous financial support, and to the guests who explored Matsuyama for half-a-day with us.
The tour is now live and bookable on the website! Look at www.hiddenjapantravel.com/packages/matsuyama-food-culture. We can’t wait to show more people around this incredible city. So, spread the word: the Matsuyama Food & Culture Tour run by HiddenJapanTravel is open and ready for business!
Many thanks to our guests for letting us use some of their images!
